Kamala Selvaraj is a physician from Tamil Nadu who practises as obstetrician and gynecologist. In the year she commissioned the first test tube baby of South India. She is the daughter of famous south Indian actor Gemini Ganesan with his wife Alamelu. Bollywood diva Rekha is her half-sister. A pioneer in infertility treatment, she has assisted reproduction therapy for more than babies.

She is one among the seven daughters of Gemini Ganeshan. She has one half-brother too. Born into family with strong connections to cinema, Kamala chose medical science as her profession, so are most other siblings. The only exception is her half-sister Rekha who went on to become a huge star in Bollywood cinema.
