You can also still walk underneath and see the old ticket booth, ferry port and crossing, which is really nice for history. I would recommend doing it, because it's a lovely walk.

Be warned, it's breezy and the bridge sometimes closes in high winds. The main section spans the Severn Estuary. The road continues on a smaller section across the river Wye and, a little further west, over the Wales Coast Path.
